Here are a few tips on improving content for a much more improved result in organic searches:

Follow your strengths. Sites should be set up must be on subject you consider yourself an expert on.

Plan the site. A good layout for the site can improve usability.

Research. Check out the competition and see what they have set up.

Try to communicate with users in forums to get feedback on what could be improved upon.

Decide on the most important keywords to use on your site. Include these keywords in the tags, main page, page title, and file names....get it? Keywords, keywords, keywords.

Focus on the topic and nothing else. The main rule is one topic per page.

Start a linking campaign. A very effective SEO method, a must do. Google in particular ranks the importance of its sites by the number of sites linked to it.

Repetition is the key to victory. Keep repeating the above tips, supporting and increasing what works and killing what does not.
